The selection software for air-handling units allows for the selection of three different types of silencers, according to the specific design necessities:
S type silencers
Silencers made of aerodynamic profiled 200mm wide baffles, whose construction is as follows:
rock wool, 80Kg/m3 of density, fire resistance class 0 according to D.M.26/06/1984 art. 8;
glass fibre material protection film (or neoprene upon request);
SL type silencers
Silencers made of 200mm wide baffles, whose construction is as follows:
rock wool, 90Kg/m3 of density, fire resistance class A1 according to D.M.26/06/1984 art. 8;
glass fibre material protection film (or neoprene upon request);
perforated metal sheet on each side;
SLX type silencers
Silencers made of aerodynamic profiled 200mm wide baffles, whose construction is as follows:
rock wool, 120Kg/m3 of density, fire resistance class A1 according to D.M.26/06/1984 art. 8;
glass fibre material protection film (or neoprene upon request);
perforated metal sheet on each side;
additional sheet for resonance attenuation (also known as 'Helmotz reverberators');
Other and more advanced solutions are also available, to be discussed with TCF technical people, such as additional sound-absorbing mats, made from different materials, to be applied inside the fan section, specific spring-type shock absorbers for the fans, or silencers extractable from the side for easy cleaning operations in hospital or pharmaceutical applications.
